Proctored Exam Information

What is Proctored Examination

  • IDNZ certification exam is conducted via proctoring exam. A proctored exam is a timed exams that you take while proctoring software monitors your computer's desktop, webcam video and audio. The data recorded by the proctoring software is transferred to a proctoring service for review. If you are required to take a proctored exam for your verified certificate:

    • You might need to install the proctoring software on your computer each time you take an exam

    • You cannot take proctored exams using the mobile app

    • Before you take the exam, you must verify your identity by taking a webcam photo of your face, your photo ID, and use a webcam to scan the desk and the room where you will take the exam.

    • While you take the exam, you must follow the proctoring rules and requirements. If your course exam has different rules, your course team will let you know.

    • While you take the exam, the proctoring software monitors your computer, including any software that is running, and streams the exam data to the proctoring software via the cloud. The software also records video and audio from your webcam.

    • After you end your exam, the exam session is reviewed by the proctoring service on the spot. You will receive results right after you completed the exam.

Exam Booking & Extensions

  • IDNZ does not offer Exam Extensions.

  • Candidates must take the exam within 6 months of studying the Certification i.e. the course eligibility period. We recommend students take the first exam 3-6 weeks after the completion of the course anytime within the 6-month eligibility.

  • To book the exam, just use the exam booking link in your learning management system (section 1 of your course).

  • Should a candidate fail their first exam attempt, they must repeat the exam within the exam eligibility period. Candidates have three exam attempts in total.

  • It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure they book their exam and take any further repeat exams within their 6-month eligibility period.

Rescheduling or Cancelling your Exam

  • Candidates are able to reschedule or cancel booked examination through IDNZ.

  • Exam cancellation or reschedule must be done no later than 48 hours prior to the scheduled exam time. Failure to reschedule or cancel the exam prior to 48 hours before the scheduled exam time will result in a ‘used exam attempt’ and forfeit the exam fees and will incur a re-examination fee.

  • Failure to meet a scheduled examination by a candidate will result in a ‘no-show status’. If a candidate reaches a no-show status, the first exam attempt will be used and the exam fees will be forfeited. The candidate will be required to pay a re-examination fee (NZD $365) to schedule another exam.

Important Information about your exam

  • Candidates must report at their proctoring exam 20 minutes before their scheduled examination time.

  • If a candidate reports more than 10 minutes late for an exam, they will be denied admission, will lose their first exam attempt and will be charged a re-examination fee to schedule their next exam.

  • In order to be admitted to take the exam, the candidate must show a valid, unexpired ID which must be government-issued and contains both a photograph and a signature.

  • The candidate’s First name and Last name on the ID must exactly match the names which were registered for the examination, otherwise the candidate will be denied entrance to the exam.

  • Acceptable forms of IDs with photograph and signature include: Driver’s license, Government-issued identification card, Passport, Any other government-issued ID with a photo and signature.

  • Duration of the examination is 150 minutes (most candidates use less than the allotted 2.5 hours to complete the examination)

  • There are no scheduled breaks during the exam.

  • The examination consists of approximately 180 - 200 questions, depending on the course.

  • In order to pass the examination, candidates must achieve 75% overall exam score. Failure to achieve 75% score will result in a failed examination. Candidates who failed the exam, can repeat it within their given exam eligibility period. Please note that there are maximum of 2 repeat exam attempts allowed (3 attempts in total).

  • Following the completion of the exam, candidates will receive a Score Report on the spot from the system which will show the overall pass/fail grade and scores.
